The Commonwealth Government only
needs to provide one thing to the NDIS – Australian Dollars.
The good news is that the Commonwealth Government can never run out of Australian Dollars. Nor does it need to collect Australian Dollars as taxes before it spends. In fact, it would be impossible for taxpayers to provide Australian Dollars to the Commonwealth Government before the Government has spent – because Australian Dollars come into existence when the Commonwealth spends.
This means that Australia can always afford the NDIS – and we can do so without imposing a larger tax burden on anyone.
This might sound counter-intuitive or different to what you have been told in the past. If that is the case, then please, put aside what you think you know about money and read on.
